Move Forward With Confidence

The Empower hereditary cancer test analyzes your DNA to determine your risk for common hereditary cancers.

Approximately 5 to 10 percent of all cancers can be attributed to inherited variants or mutations1. Patterns of cancer can be seen in families where people have these mutations. If you are concerned about cancer patterns in your family, genetic testing can give you more information about your cancer risk.

Understand your results

There are three possible results from the Empower test

No variant known to increase risk for cancers was found in the genes tested.

A mutation was found which may be associated with an increased risk for certain cancer types.

Variant of Uncertain Significance (VUS) has been identified, but there is not enough evidence to determine if it is associated with an increased risk for cancer. VUS status can change over time. Discuss your family history of cancer with your provider to understand your personal risk profile.
