Looking Back at 2025: How Natera Supported Cancer Survivors

The landscape of cancer care is rapidly evolving, and at the heart of this change is the commitment to empower patients with knowledge and support. As the year draws to a close, we at Natera are taking a moment to reflect on the inspiring strength of the cancer survivor community and the ways we’ve been privileged to offer support and partnership throughout 2025. Our commitment extends far beyond diagnostic testing; it’s about empowering every individual to live their fullest life after a diagnosis.

2025 was a landmark year for connecting with and celebrating survivors across the nation. We believe that shared experience is a powerful tool for healing, and this year’s events were a testament to that spirit.

Empowering Through Education and Access

Knowledge is key to post-treatment health management. In 2025, Natera focused on ensuring survivors had clear, accessible information about their ongoing care and diagnostic options. Natera’s advocacy is centered on a clear goal: to deliver crucial, plain-language education on advanced diagnostics, particularly Molecular Residual Disease (MRD) testing (Signatera™ and Empower™), to help patients, thrivers, previvors, and caregivers make informed decisions alongside their care teams.

  • Patient Education Initiative: We partnered with leading oncology groups to develop and distribute easy-to-understand guides on long-term follow-up and the role of technologies like minimal residual disease (MRD) testing in monitoring recurrence.

  • Patient and Caregiver Support: Natera proudly supported over 40 national nonprofit organizations and over 250 patient-centered events to empower, educate, and support survivors, thrivers, and caregivers at conferences, symposiums, retreats, and trips.

  • Co-Creating Content: We partnered with trusted organizations to develop educational materials that are grounded in lived experience - collaborating with and listening to the respective patient communities to gain a better understanding of the patient experience.

  • Strategic Sponsorships: Funding key initiatives, events, and programs that directly support patient communities.

  • Amplifying Patient Stories: This year, we were privileged to share the inspiring stories of Kyle, Anj, Holly, Jason, and Dr. James Duke. We want to extend a special thank you to each of them for their time, dedication, and commitment to sharing their lived experiences. It was an honor to witness their strength and vulnerability as they centered the patient voice and advocated for themselves and their fellow survivors.

  • Policy Focus: Natera actively pursues advocacy group support in tandem with government affairs to help move tumor-informed MRD testing into national guidelines.

  • Natera's Patient Support Team: Our dedicated team worked tirelessly to assist thousands of patients with benefit verification, navigating insurance, and understanding out-of-pocket costs, helping to ensure financial barriers didn't prevent access to necessary testing.

Investing in Tomorrow: Driving Research Forward

The fight against cancer doesn't end with treatment—it continues with innovation. Natera continues to dedicate resources to research that directly benefits the survivor community:

  • Post-Treatment Monitoring Studies: We supported several clinical trials focused on optimizing surveillance protocols (including the highly anticipated IMvigor011), aiming to detect recurrence earlier and more accurately, giving survivors and their physicians the best chance for timely intervention.

  • Advancing Personalized Care: Our research teams continued to develop new tools that help clinicians tailor post-treatment strategies based on the unique molecular ‘fingerprint’ of a patient’s disease.

The resilience of the survivors we met this year inspires us every day. As we look ahead to 2026, Natera remains fully committed to supporting this community—not just through advanced diagnostics, but through partnership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to a future where survivorship is defined by health and hope.
