Kyle’s Colon Cancer Story
Kyle had been experiencing subtle symptoms for nearly two years — fluctuating weight, change in diet, and fatigue — until a routine colonoscopy changed everything. In 2023, Kyle received his diagnosis: Stage IV colon cancer.

“I went from living a fun, fruitful, amazing life to being told that I have six months to live,” Kyle recalls. “Something turned on, and I went into fight mode.”
Kyle’s care team moved swiftly. He underwent aggressive chemotherapy and open surgery, including simultaneous liver and colon resections.
As part of his ongoing monitoring, Kyle began using Signatera™ Molecular Residual Disease (MRD) testing. He received kits at home and found comfort in seeing negative results. But six months after his final treatment, a CT scan came back clear—while his Signatera test showed a positive result.
Thanks to that early detection, Kyle’s team fast-tracked a microwave liver ablation. The proactive approach gave him a renewed sense of control and hope.
“I was very lucky to have an oncologist who’s willing to look at the science. Me getting a positive result and discussing it with my care team—we fast-tracked everything,” Kyle says. “I have an opportunity to completely celebrate, or celebrate the fact that I’m going to be fast-tracked.”
Today, Kyle continues his fight against cancer filled with optimism and gratitude.
“It’s absolutely life changing that this exists.” -Kyle
